My boyfriend is currently incarcerated and INS has a hold on him and I wanted to know if marrying him will avoid deportation.

The answer to your question is not necessarily. It depends upon the reasons for his incarceration. It is in your best interests to speak to an experienced immigration attorney who can review the record of conviction that resulted in your boyfriend’s arrest.
