I petitioned my wife 5 years ago, we received approval notice in August of 2006. My question is, due to my condition (disabled) I'm not making enough money to be the sponsor. We are 5 in the family, my wife, our 3 children and I. All 3 children are US citizens. Is there anything that I can do to get my wife's green card? Your prompt response it will be appreciated.

You can have a co-sponsor complete an affidavit of support. This can be a friend or family member who has sufficient income. The person must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident and meet the criteria on Form I-864P.

Assuming you are a U.S. citizen, your wife could file an application for adjustment of status if she entered the country legally. If your wife entered with a non-immigrant visa (with certain limitations), she may be eligible to file for a green card in the U.S. However, if she entered the country illegally, she would have to go back to her native country and process through the U.S. Embassy/Consulate. This will cause further issues as she will trigger a ten year bar and need a hardship waiver. As you are diabled, you would likely qualify for the waiver, but the process could take 1-2 years to straighten out.
